Home Rule

What is Home Rule in Sedona? The state of Arizona has three accounting options for cities and towns. State baseline is the approved State method. The other two have to be approved by the voters.

Voter approved options are:

  • Home rule (Alternative expenditure limitation)
  • Permanent Base

Permanent base, as it is a permanent base adjustment to the state baseline.
Home Rule must be approved by the voters every four years

Other Option:
The voters also have the option of a one time override every May.
